Volume control using a remote

Perfectly possible, but depends on the speaker. Which speakers do you have, how are they connected and to which source?

Im using a chromecast for my source. The headphone jack on my tv is kinda shitty it gives me hissing noise. Used the rca audio out but i cant control it using the tv's remote control.

Are the speakers connected to an AVR? Usually those have a remote, and if you got it used without the remote Luke's universal remote idea would work.
