So, I've noticed that a lot of high-end tablets use IPS or OLED based displays and are of decent size and resolution. How much would it cost and how hard would it be for a manufacturer to include a feature to accept a video input and use the tablet as a display device?

I'm not talking about USB or using a screen-sharing/mirroring application.

I'm talking about putting a DisplayPort jack on the device.

HDMI might also work, but I think HDMI costs money to use.

HDCP support might be a nice bonus, but if it costs too much or limits the use too much it isn't that important.

Assuming the cost to implement it is negligible, it would mean that almost anyone could spend 100-300 USD on a 10-20 Inch tablet and then have a 10-20" OLED display.

Maybe also have support for using the touch/pen features available via USB for input.

These are good examples of part of the concept, except Wacom wants about 1000 USD.

Yes, I know the digitizer on the Note will never be as good as the Cintiq, but the Display would be the main feature, plus the Note 10.1 is a "decently" powerful Android device, while the Cintiq is not. The "Hybrid" seems to run an Android OS, but I doubt Wacom is shipping a powerful Android device, but is instead shipping a mediocre Android device with an excellent digitizer.

The Cintiq has a good digitizer and costs about 1000 USD or more and at most has a minimal Android device hardware to use for drawing applications.

The Note is a good Android device that costs about 500 USD and has a minimal digitizer.

If you just wanted an OLED display, how much would you be willing to pay for a tablet that could act as a display?

If you were shopping for a tablet, how much would you spend on the tablet if you knew you could use it as a display?
