Both are of equal price where I live, which one should I get?

Heavy gamer, mostly FPS/mobas, battery life is REALLY important.

Do you really need a wireless mouse?

Fps games demand responsiveness and wireless mice can't compete with wired ones in this regard.

what this guy said...

there is no good reason to buy a wireless mouse if you want "good battery life" and superb responsiveness, just buy a wired mouse ...

i used a wireless mouse for a few years and i allways ended up pissed when the battery died while is was gaming and when i bought a wired mouse i was happy.

those wireless mouses are heavier because of the batteries in them & if you let enough playroom for the wire, you don't have isues with the wire.

a heavy gamer picks up his mouse a lot instead of stretching it all over his desk so the wire shouldn't be a problem...

conclusion: buy a god damn wired mouse if you are a heavy gamer

I7 3930K @4.4 GHz  /  Asus rampage 4 formula  / 4x 8gb kingston hyperx blue low profile / gtx 980  / 2x ssd 500gb samsung 840 / 500gb 840evo ssd   /  500 GB WD blue /  windows 7 ultimate

But what if you don't want or like wires?

It shouldn't be an option for a serious gamer.

Not liking wires is not an option? I call complete BS especially since logitech has has 1000hz polling on wireless for quite a long time.

I have the G602 and I love it. On the ECO mode or whatever it's called, the mouse lasted about a month and a half to 2 months with 4-8 hours of use per day with the batteries it comes with. Since I replaced those I usually see about a month or maybe a little less on regular RAYOVAC AA batteries. I don't really use the performance mode because I see and feel no difference, but I'm guessing it lasts about half that length, which is what Logitech says it will last (2 weeks). As for dying in the middle of a game, the logitech software will warn you when your batteries are at 10%, and continue to give a few warnings every so often until you change or they die. I'm not saying that there is no difference between wireless and wired, but personally I see no difference in game.

I use a g602 and find it fantastic. My rig is out of the way of the table so I have to use a wireless mouse. Haven't had any issues and able to play fps games just fine. Even with my eyefinity setup haven't had any problems with tracking.

Yes, my gaming PC is also my media center PC, which means I often have to use the mouse a few meters away from it (even with a long cable it would get in the way).

I use a 5ms LED monitor with a generic MX600 wireless mouse, I don't think I'll notice the difference between wired and wireless.

PS: Thanks to everybody for their replies, I think I'll be getting the G602 :)

that is the usb polling rate and not the beacon's update rate. Just like wifi will never beat Ethernet

I have the Performance Mouse MX......I used to have the MX Revolution, which I loved, but this one is not that great.

Can't say anything about the 602 though.

Both are pretty good, but the G602 would definitley be better for gaming. I personally prefer the Performance MX, but that's because i have bigger hands.

Specs: 4790k | Asus Z-97 Pro Wifi | MX100 512GB SSD | NZXT H440 Plastidipped Black | Dark Rock 3 CPU Cooler | MSI 290x Lightning | EVGA 850 G2 | 3x Noctua Industrial NF-F12's

Bought a powermac G5, expect a mod log sometime in 2015

Corsair is overrated, and Anime is ruined by the people who watch it
