Hello everybody,

I've got a BMW e36 sedan from 1997, only my speakers in the front work because in the back I haven't got them. The previous owner took them out. Now because I can call myself a noob when it comes to tech in cars.

Were talking about the speakers in the rear deck (parcel shelf) that aren't there. Do you guys know a place on the internet where I can find how to wire new rear deck speakers and do you know which speakers will do the trick. (I only want to replace the speakers in the back because I don't want to take the doors apart)

I've got a JVC KD-X50BT headunit if that helps you.

Thanks in advance! :)

If you buy new speakers it doesn't matter what ones as long as they are the right size for your car make/model but you need to look at where the mounting holes are in the back of the car and see what speakers have the hardware to line up with it. Otherwise you will have to drill new holes yourself to accommodate your new speakers and make sure they won't rattle.

As far as connecting it, a goggle search of your decks manual should give a diagram as to which wires go where.

You can just put any speakers in not sure what size they are but 6x9s etc, probably worth an upgrade anyway.

If there were speakers in there originally and the speaker cable has been completely removed there should be some wires missing on the loom at the back of the head unit, if they are still there just solder them together.
