Like i somewhere said, my father was into PC's some time ago, building them and playing with them, but he stopped doing it when he started using laptops around 2006.

I found an old Mobo, CPU and GPU, and i think they should work, but i'm not sure, and i've been planning on doing a weak pc for watching stuff on TV (it'll be at my grandma's place, so there's no way i'll use it for something else...). I already have some DDR 1 RAM (at least i think this is a DDR 1 Mobo), DVD reader, and an old case at my cousin/brother's place (i already have a ton of old, working keyboards, mice, HDD's, some old 1280 x 1024 monitor's and an OS (i do have an old XP CD, but should i use Linux O.o)), i only need a PSU (i can easily get it, used, very, very cheap), so, should i try and make some kind of a PC from it.

This is the mobo:

This is the GPU:

And on the CPU it's written:

INTEL '04

Celeron   D

331 sl98V Malay

2.66GHz/256/533/04A

L613F053

So, what do you guys think, and could you please tell me what socket is that Mobo, and which GPU is that O.o

After researching a little, i noticed that this is 775 Mobo (like @DEcobra11 said), and that it's compatible with core 2 CPU's :D

I'll see if i can find any cheap, if not, i'll stick with this one. In the next few days i'll visit my cousin/brother to see if he also has DDR RAM, if not, then i'll have to wait till i'm back home to build it. I'll also test it with a PSU (which he should have, so see if everything works :D I'll also need to buy some thermal paste for the cooler...

All in all, this project will take some time, but i'll build a pc, that's for sure :D

So, does anyone know anything about GPU O.o

The socket does even support 4 core cpu...

but you must check mb CPU compatibility tho... (I think this mb was only up to Pentium 4 with HT(1 core))

GPU: Riva TNT2

That's "a lot" older than the other parts... the onboard GPU is going to be better

I see, i didn't even know that CPU had onboard graphics. Well, as long as it can play 720p movies/tv shows, then it's fine :D

It's on the MBs chipset...

I didn't even know that there can be an onboard GPU on the chipset... well, we learn new things everyday :D

Also, how good would be Nvidia GeForce MX 440SE for watching movies/tv shows O.o I found online a few very cheap, used GPU's, and this one costs 3,5$...
