AMD gpu driver problems

Go to solution Solved by Needalight,

Just found out it was crucial ram. And tried hyperx blacks 1600mhz 4gigs (no difference). I'm really curious to see what amd responds, reported the problem.

I'll try nuking the hdd tomorrow. Just for good measure.

Hello,

Recently I bought a new gpu (asus hd7850-dc2-2gd5). I installed a fresh install of win7 64x and downloaded the newest amd drivers (14.4, even the beta). When installing them i get a bsod. Every time it hangs on audio drivers, sometimes on the graphics driver.

I downloaded drivers from asus (like 2012 old) and it seems to work (not what I call stable,CCC sometimes doesn't respond).

All hope is lost for now. Any ideas? And everyting was stable for a year using the HD6770.

Setup:

cpu: amd fx6300

gpu: asus hd7850 directcu2

ram: 4gb 1333mhz noname

psu: 600w corsair

motherboard:asus m5a78l-m/usb3

hdd: seagate barracuda 500gb

Noname RAM? I would be wanting to test that with Memtest86+ for a few passes to check for errors.

Thank you guys for your help :) I don't know how but loading defaults in bios helped and 14.7 beta drivers installed.

Can you do this as a last option, install the driver that came with the disk. See if that helps.

I actually bought the card used and without a box or anything.

Alright, just trying to help you out as much as I can...

select your operating system, go to VGA and download the first update that is on there. Before you do this, make sure to uninstall the old drivers for the graphic card.

Hmm there may have been a PCI speed issue. and resetting to defaults fixed it.

Glad you got it sorted :)
