What would be a good cooler for the 4790k? I don't want water cooling btw. My case is the Nzxt Phantom 410 btw.
I've narrowed choices down to some.

Noctua NH-D14
NZXT Havik 140
CM Hyper 212 Evo
And any others that can be recommended for a cpu that runs this hot.

Also recommendations are very much appreciated, thanks!

If you don't want to do any overclocks that would be considered more than mild than you'd be fine with the 212 EVO, I'd stay away from the Havik 140 as it is super large and pretty annoying to work with.

CPU: Intel i7 8700K | CPU Cooler: be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 3 | RAM: Kingston HyperX 2x8GB | Motherboard: Asus ROG Z370-E | GPU: MSI GTX 970 | HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB & 2TB | SSD: Samsung 840 EVO 250GB & 970 EVO M.2 500GB | Case: Phanteks Enthoo Evolv X | PSU: Silverstone Platinum Strider 1100W | Monitor: AOC i2367Fh | Headphones: ATH-M40X | Mic: Antlion ModMic 4 | Keyboard: Corsair K70 RGB w/ MX Browns | Mouse: Logitech G502 HERO

I would go for a Noctua NH-U14S....

It's Cheaper looks better and takes up less room, It works just as good as the Noctua NH-D14 if you add an Extra fan.....

I have one and would Recommend 100%.

Thanks everyone. It just sucks trying to save money, so the Noctuas are definitely under consideration!
I'll also be using the Arctic cooler mx-4 thermal compound as I hear that's good!
Unfortunately the Noctuas cover up ram slots and it seems inconvenient to take out the cooler if i want to insert more ram later on

The NH-U14S dose not cover your RAM at all.....

What mother board do you have..?

Asus Z97-AR.

How much better would the NH-U14s be over the Hyper 212 Evo?

It's Much much better... It's the best single tower on the market. put a second NF-A15 on it and it's there with the H100i just a few C's Higher in temps.

And with that Mother board it's 100% compatable... With RAM and Graphics Card

You don't need to buy thermal compound if you get Noctua. You get their branded one with cooler. Its as good as any other on the market.
