Hey all! I am doing my first build and I need some suggestions. PLEASE DO NOT SAY "Oh your mobo is too expensive for what you need" or "You could have got a better cpu" because I am leaving room for upgrades. When you suggest a graphics card just keep in mind that I am leaving room for upgrades and dont want something really expensive.

My graphics card budget is roughly about 350 CAD. Nvidia or AMD doesnt matter, but I would much rather nvidia because I am thinking of getting a shield. A red coloured card is a must, preferably by ASUS.

SPECS

CPU - Intel i5 4430

MOBO - MSI Gaming 7 Z97

PSU - Corsair CX750M 750W PSU

RAM - Corsair Vengeance Pro 16gb 2x8gb

Case - Corsair Graphite 230T Black Windowed

Storage - 1x Samsung 840 Evo 120gb

1x Seagate Barracuda 2tb 7200 RPM

Cooling - 6x Thermaltake Luna 12 Red LED

Thank you for your suggestions in advance.

I prefer to buy from NCIX and I am located in Canada.

I am a beautiful person who is a good idea to have a good time to time and money to buy a new job and I need some help with the same time for the first time in the middle of the day.

A 280x like this one:

http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/part/xfx-video-card-r9280xtdfd

or this one:

http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/part/gigabyte-video-card-gvr928xoc3gdrev2

or this one:

http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/part/his-video-card-h280xqm3g2m

I recommend the Gigabyte one. Windforce is a great cooler, especially on cards that run really hot like the higher end AMD ones. Most red ones are over your budget. This one is red:

For Nvidia, you'll get less performance, but here:

^ If you want to overpay for ROG. Or:

Keep in mind, the 280x is more powerful. All the red 770s are $360 or above.

Build: CPU: Intel Core i5 4690k | CPU Cooler: Hyper 212 Evo | Motherboard: MSI Z97 Gaming 5 | RAM: 8GB G-Skill Ares 1600Mhz CL9 | Storage: 120GB Samsung 840 Evo + WD Blue 1TB 64MB Cache + Seagate Barracuda 2TB 64MB Cache | GPU: MSI GTX 960 | Case: Cooler Master Storm Enforcer | Power Supply: EVGA 600B Non-Modular |

@GymothyCharles Are you planning on SLI/CFX in the future? If not then save yourself some cash and lower the wattage to around 450w-650w (Make sure you think about if you'll need more sata peripheral cables, pci-e etc.) I'd go with a GTX 770/R9 280X

Which cooler to go for; I'd get either the MSI Gaming or DCU2 if it's the newer cooler design like this

Leaving room for what upgrades with that motherboard? You can get a $150 board that will literally do everything that board can do and you could afford a proper i5 then. What ever floats your boat I guess, not my money wasted.

$350, NVIDIA preference, red.

I would urge you to spend $20 more to get an ASUS DCUII GTX 770. With the $20 MIR, it will cost $350, but it is $370.

I hardly think he'd need a 4GB GTX 760.

EDIT- To clarify, he's overpaying for memory he doesn't need. Go with a 2GB.

Yeah thanks for the comment.. I realized that I could save lots by going with a cheaper mobo. I am now using an msi gaming 7 z97 board

I went for the twin frozr gtx 770 simply because I want a shield. Thanks for the reply.

Gaming 7 is still a little bit... I'd go with Gaming 5... That way you can use the saved money for 770 DCUII
