Uninterruptible Power Supply?

About 4-5 times a month the power will go out for a second and then back on causing my computer to power cycle. I am forced to unplug it and hold the power to drain the power or I will have USB issues throwing up a BSOD. Not to mention I lose all my work unless i save it beforehand. Would a UPS be able to handle an instantaneous on/off? If so, what are some recommendations? $200 is my budget.

Spend it on a UPS. It will be perfectly fine with quick on/off as long as it has an equal or greater wattage than your whole PC

as long as its the power drops for less than 10 minutes, you can have quite a light UPS.

 

we (not me) could help you better if you told us what your wattage is of your computer and all the other things you want to connect to the UPS (such as monitor, ... )

 

 

to calculate the capacity of your UPS: power draw (in watts) * maximum time and some extra time (in hours) = watt in an hour -> Wh or kWh (kWh = Wh *1000 )
