Hi there.

I'm having this weird issue with my Club3d R9 280x royalking and makes me regret getting the card in the first place. So I have 2 of them here and due to my old motherboard that broke I had to get a cheaper one that I can't crossfire with. One of my cards was giving me geen lines on desktop and I managed to get it swapped for a new one. I then decided ok while they test the card and ship me a new one install the other card. Before I go on my specs:

i7-3770k

r9 280x

16GB corsair 1600mhz ram

2x ssd and 1x HDD

Qnix qx2710 @ 96Hz

So since i had the card in the pc for about 2 months now i'm starting to get issues. Like games will freeze at random times but I can just end task the game and relaunch without restarting operating system etc etc. So I phoned the pc shop and they told me that my monitor could be the issue but then I decided ok if my monitor is the issue I will have the same symptoms when installing the other card I got back from them. And what do you know I'm running it for 2 days now. Longer than I could on the other card so that means it could be the card that's faulty.

On my 1080p monitor everything works fine. I think it's because 1080p 60fps in most games I play is kind of a breeze for it so it's not being taxed same way. So how would I go in proving the pc shop that the card is indeed faulty? They don't have a 1440p monitor to test and the shop is a bit far away to take my monitor to them have them test the card with my monitor.

I also had issues getting my other card that made green line swapped cause according to them it wasn't faulty so I don't want to go through the same issues getting this one swapped.

Well if the issue is solved with the new card it's proof enough. Alternatively you couls bring them your monitor and let them test it with another system, if it works fine it's definitely the card.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

sudo chmod -R 000 /*

Yes i could but you see like i said the shop is a bit far away to take the monitor with. If I must then I must but i would try not to. I would like to convince them before that or maybe some other test I can do from my side to narrow the cause of it. Funny at 1080p 60fps it all seems fine.

Now i was thinking of just getting a new card. Something like the r9 290 or so. i'm tired of issues. At first I couldn't get my GPU to accept my 96Hz then it got sorted by itself and then super high cpu usage on crossfire with my old i5-2500k. People suggested that something else was wrong cause i5-2500k @ 4.8Ghz should be enough for most games including bf4. that was before mantle. then I got this double image issue

So maybe I should just forget about these cards and get something else from let's say MSI or ASUS. something like the r9 290/290x. We have a special on the r9 290x lightning here.

Ok so I installed the old card again and when playing bf4 for a while it will crash. been playing bf4 with the new/other card and it's all fine now so looks like the card is faulty for sure. I will just send it in tand they have to replace it
