New gaming PC

Hi guys! I'm thinking of building a new PC (Gaming) and I just wanted some advice, what can be done better, this part is bad etc. (I am European, my English isn't flawless, so you can maybe spot some grammar mistakes)

Fatal1ty Z97 Killer, LGA1150, Intel Z97, DDR3, ATX

103355_50x50_0.jpg   Intel

Haswell i5-4690K, LGA1150, 3.5GHz, 6MB, Boxed

92660_50x50_0.jpg   Asus

AMD Radeon R9 280X DirectCU II, 3GB GDDR5, 2xDVI/HDMI/DP, PCI-E 3.0

95215_50x50_0.jpg   Western Digital

1TB Caviar Black, SATA 3, 7200rpm, 64MB

103353_50x50_0.jpg   Corsair

650W, VS650M, ATX PSU

100261_50x50_0.jpg   Kingston

8GB (2x4GB)HyperX Fury, DDR3 1333MHz, CL9, 1.5V, black

96135_50x50_0.jpg   BitFenix

Comrade, ATX-midtower, white

56233_50x50_0.jpg   BitFenix

Spectre LED Fan 120mm, orange

For OS I thought Win7 or 8, any reason why pick 8 over 7?

Anything that I need, some better options for those parts? Every comment will be read!
(Links go to a Finnish website)

.
So here is what have changed:
Memory to
  Seagate

1TB Barracuda, 3.5", Sata3, 7200rpm, 64MB

PSU to
  Corsair

600W CX V2 Builder Series, ATX-Powersupply, 80Plus Bronze

And I found this cool bundle:

  Gigabyte

Z97X-Gaming 3, LGA1150 + Crucial 8GB (2 x 4GB) Ballistix Tactical, DDR3 1600MHz

So it has Gigabyte Z97X Motherboard + 2x4GB Crucial RAM, and only for about 170$, would it be worth it?

You will need a better PSU, VS series are for entry-to-mid level components, your CPU and GPU are quite high-end, the VS is not enough, go for RM series

For OS, pick windows 8.1, it boots straight to desktop unlike windows 8 and more importantly it gives you better gaming performance

My current rig for entertainment/gaming: i5 4570 3,2GHz; MSI B85M-E45; ZOTAC GTX760 AMP!; 8GB (2x4GB) by Kingston; Seagate Barracuda 1TB 7200rpm; Corsair 200R, Corsair VS650; Dell U2312HM, Samsung DVD R/W optical drive; CM Devastator; Corsair MM400 gaming pad

1. You don't NEED a better PSU, but you defenetly SHOULD get a better one. Just get a Corsair CX600, it's just a few bucks more and will do the trick.

2. For storage get rid of the unnecessary WD Black, get a WD Blue or a Seagate and grab a SSD.

3. For OS it's really a personal choice. Windows 8.1 is newer and gets you perfomance boosts over Win7 in some games (Battlefield 4 up to 50% depending on CPU & GPU). I'd go with Windows 8.1, you'll get used to it.

The rest seems good, altough I personally hate ASrock mainboards and would choose an ASUS or GIGABYTE mainboard.

I would´ve took the SSD, if I really needed one. I just though I might add it later, when I need it. 1 TB seems good enough for start.

^^ this

Plus better memory. Any one of the following would be reasonable choices:

And thank you for that effort of going into a foreign site :)

Seems fair^^. But I would still get a WD Blue or a Seagate Barracuda. The WD Black is just not worth the extra costs.

And go for 1600MHz CL9 RAM, it's the most stable version and anything more won't really give you more performance, in most cases it actually won't make any difference at all.

(BTW wtf how expensive is RAM in Finland. I live in Germany and pay 65-70€ for 2x4GB.)

And just to have it said: You are about to put a very powerfull combination of parts into a case that offers nearly no air at all for it's components. I would really think about choosing a case that gives your components a bit more air to breath. Put the 20€ you save on the HDD into a more suited case like a Bitfenix Shinobi http://www.jimms.fi/tuote/BFC-SNB-150-WWNK2-RP

For a few bucks more you could even buy a Bitfenix Shinobi Core with mesh in the colour you prefer:

http://www.jimms.fi/tuote/BFC-SNB-150-WWW1-SP   Shinobi Core

http://www.jimms.fi/tuote/SHINOBI-STRIPES-OR   Orange Mesh

http://www.jimms.fi/tuote/SHINOBI-STRIPES-BK   Black Mesh

http://www.jimms.fi/tuote/SHINOBI-STRIPES-WH   White Mesh

the mesh is also available in Blue, Red, Silver, Green and a light blue

http://www.jimms.fi/tuote/BFC-PRO-300-SLOG-RP Aluminium Style Bitfenix Logo (these are available in various colours, but I think this side only offers this one)

EDIT: Did you notice that this side offers a Gigabyte Z97X-Gaming 3 motherboard bundled with 2x4Gb Crucial Ballisitx Tactical DDR3 1600MHz RAM for only 129€? (You get the RAM for free)

Thanks a lot for finding some parts! :) I think I will go with that regular Shinobi.

You don't have cpu cooler listed there. Are you going with stock? I'd suggest getting 212 Evo. Its most recommended budget cooler in Air cooling section. http://www.jimms.fi/tuote/RR-212E-16PK-R1

The 212 Evo is a great value, normally. But finnish hardware prices seem to strike again. Regarding that I would recommend the Thermalright True Spirit 120. The 2€ less are not worth mentioning, but the True Spirit is noticeably quieter than the 212 Evo.

I would defenetly go with that bundle! This Gigabyte board is great and I would choose it over the ASrock you chose anyway. And Crucial is a good RAM manifacturer, and the RAM is exactly what you need: 2x4GB DDR 1600 CL9.

I knew something was missing! Going to use this as a cooler, have heard great feedback from it. Thanks! :)
