also when your statistic is based on random probability and is a very small number, the variation in samples is going to be massive, stars just happened to align.

They don't correlate. This datas are both so different that you can't compare them.

 

Even if you do you get anothe result as shown by the graphs, which are just poorly made and don't represent anything.

The plot for showing of correlation needs to be done by ploting on set of data in dependency of another.

For example "Cage" on the x-axis and "Drowning" on the y-axis, if you it that way it's not misleading.

 

It's funny though that the (empirical) correlation (of around 0.67) is actually correct, but it measures linear correlation which is clearly not the case if you plot it right.

And a statistical test suggests that there is no correlation.

 

So, if you see similar statistics that are about more serious things you should still be sceptical.
