Next year I'll be getting an i7-4790K but for now I need to know (preferably from an 8320/8350 owner) if it's worth the $149.99 to buy an 8320 to replace my 8120. My 8120 is OC'd to 3.4 GHz if that means anything.

CPU: AMD FX-8120 | CPU Cooler: Thermaltake Contac 30 | Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD3 | Memory: Kingston 16GB (4 x 4GB) DDR3-1333 | Storage: WD 1TB | GPU: Gigabyte Radeon HD 7870 | Case: Thermaltake Chaser MK-I | PSU: Thermaltake Black Widow 850W

Depends on your motherboard and cooling. If you're motherboard and cooling are adequate enough en you could get the 8320 to 4.2 Ghz, which is somewhat easily reachable, you will see about a 20%-25% improvement. I got to 4.4 Ghz with a Gigabyte 970a-ud3p and a Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO and my chip is a somewhat less good overclocker, so that should give you some perspective.

edit: took a look at your profile and you should be able to about match or surpass my OC

If i got an 8320 i wouldn't really have any intention of overclocking unless it's really worth it. My cooler by the way is a Thermaltake Contac 30 and my motherboard is a GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD3 rev 1.1. I have installed an exhaust fan on my heatsink as well as an intake fan. What chip do you have by the way?

I've got a 8320 myself, but if you're not planning on overclocking its not worth it.

Alright then, thanks. I'll just spend my money on a 3TB hard drive and wait until next year to upgrade to a 4790K.
