I've never done overclocking before, how should I start?

Maximus VII Hero

H100i

If you want more detailed information, you can get quite specific using overclock.net's various user-made guides on specific chipsets, CPUs or CPU families, or even motherboards  I think.

 

Just search their forums for "4790k overclocking" or similar in the Intel CPU section.
