Hey guys I am having a problem with my CPU. For some reason when I stress test it will only go to 1.9 when it should be at 4.4 with turbo boost. I have the i7 4790k.

It just will not go above 1.9. I really need your help!

Is it overheating?

No everything is bone stock..Using Aida64 and cpu-z. I have also used other stress tests and I am getting the same thing.

ok next thing to do is to look at the power plan on your PC or anyother software taht might of came with the mobo that would control clock speed. For example my mobo lets me set a max and minimum clock speed for  power safe feature. what motherboard are you using?

MSI z97 Gaming 5. I could be this power saving feature because I have been a away for a couple days a one of my roommates turn it on, could't log on (password protected) and left it on. So I have no clue how long it was sleeping.

go into the settings and disable the powersave feature and the issue should be fixed..I don't under stand why he would do that though he should of just turned it off since it isn't his PC lol

It is very inconsiderate. I never have my pc running on idle for that long.
