Yeah... You should have just kept it to the deleated the main files part... Deleting it from the steam library is literally just deleting a shortcut.

No, it's not. "Delete local game files" via STEAM performs a proper uninstall.

Yeah, but that is "delete local game files" not deletingjust the shortcut in your library, it all depends on what the poster did.

The only way to delete the shortcut in your library is by selecting "Delete Local Game Files". Please know what you are talking about before posting.

OP, can you launch any other games? Specifically other Source engine games?

Oh really? That's interesting. I can remember having about 15-20 games unlinked from my steam library half a year ago, resulting in me having to manualy uninstall them for so to reinstall them for them to come back into my steam library. Or was that just a dream?

A dream, or you did something wrong at some point. Right click any game in your STEAM library, there is no delete option other than "Delete Local Content".

other games work :)

Next step is to reinstall your drivers.

It's possible that your resolution settings were altered somehow. If you can find out how to change them without launching the game (a quick Google search should tell you how) and set your resolution back to native, you might be able to run it. Happens all the time for me.
