Weird Random Black boxes.

Im getting these weird black boxes(not sure what you would call these) on my screen.

 

I had a older PSU short out me(It turned on for a second then just turned off) i think it short i dunno, but it didnt work afterwards.

I purchased a new PSU then to figure out that my graphics card seemed to get taken out with the psu(Distortions blue screens & some of the little black boxes as in the screenshot)

Ended up buy a powercolor r7 260x. All of the problems seemed to stop except those boxes that will show up on the screen every once and a while. i have a feeling it has to do with my motherboard but i dunno.

 

My system specs are: i7 920(stock speeds)

                                   Asus Rampage 2 Extreme

                                   6gb of Corsair Dominator GT's @ 1600Mhz

                                   Powercolor r7 260x(Was a 4870)

                                   Corsair HX850

If they don't appear in screenshots, I would assume it's the monitor. Try putting a different video output into it, like another computer, or TV, to test if it happens during that as well. If it does, it's the monitor.

The boxes are not in the same places all of the time either. its a little weird when it happens on a web site i can actually scroll past it. sometimes the boxes move around a bit when there is movement going on the screen.

Check your monitor first...
My Sapphire R7 260X randomly does the same thing... Changing resolutions and back seem to fix the issue and updating to the latest driver made the issue occur less...

okay ill try my other monitor later but would a monitor do this?

Think, you can give us multiple, full-monitor images (of different scenes and games) and screencaps from the PC itself (for comparison)... I think it might be the video card...|

It's not dead but there might be something wrong with it... It should still be covered by the warranty if you haven't overclocked it...
