I need a DAC that supports 7.1 audio.

There are 2 options to get 7.1 sound, one is hardware, which require several physical speakers, meaning that you have several cables. The only headset that I know has this, is the Tiamat from razer, which sucks for the fact that the drivers are too small and the sound won't propagate and mix as it would on a good 7.1 setup, like a home theater, you only have 2 ears, on a close scenario (headphone) 2.0 is all you would need.

Other type of 7.1 virtual, where your PC mixes all the channels on the same output, having only 2, that sound like 8. A headset for example would be the Corsair Vengeance 1500.

What would you suggest for this option? Please don't attack my headphone decision in the response. Though it might not be your cup of tea they work for me. I like them and I know they might not be the best bang for my buck. (bracing for the attack)
