I had an opportunity to get one of these gridseed miners on the cheap. After watching a lot of videos, the general idea is that the fan is useless if you are running in single mode where it only does scrypt of SHA-256. ]

I temporarily want to stop the fan without cutting the wires like everyone else. I am using a flashdrive to jam it so it doesn't make any noise. Is this a terrible idea?
