i have: amd a4-3400 APU with radeon HD graphics (2 CPUs),2.7 GHz
            400w psu
           500 hdd
           4 gb ram

i could use help with making optimal upgreades. i want to play bf3.      with my budget of 272$ i wanted to buy sapphire 2g d5 but it would bottleneck my gpu and i needed a psu. so i found 500w psu and athlon x4 processor but it would still bottleneck gpu.  i dont know anymore i need help plsss

I think we a little bit more information that that.

 

Maybe give a specific parts list and elaborat on the sapphire card you were looking at. We need a chipset or somthing......and athlon x4, well there are a lot of those.

i wanted that sapphire card because i tought i would play bf3 on ultra but with my processor i wouldnt
motherboard asus f1 a75-m le -fm1 socket for processor        http://www.cpu-world.com/Sockets/Socket%20FM1.html 
athlon 641-only one i found because fm1 "got old" a8 are fastest but i cant find them anywhere

its even more expensive than sapphire, are you sure it wont be  bottlenecked by my processor?

Probably, but that's pretty much the best option for you.

You might find that going with an r7 265, 260x or 260 which enables you to use HSA could also be an option.

First things first, resell your cpu and mobo to get some cash together...

Get an FM2+ mobo and get an A8 or an A10 (If you want to stick to AMD)

Otherwise, get an i3 and corresponding mobo...

You can save some cash by keeping everything else, but I suggest getting a beefier PSU (around 500W to be safe)... FSP has decently priced ones and I strongly discourage getting Generic PSUs...

 

Save up for a few months (wait for a sale) and get a GTX750 or an R7 265 afterwards...
