So im helping my friend upgrade his system, specifically a CPU with the 1155* socket http://eu.msi.com/product/mb/Z77AS01.html#/?div=Detail and a GPU to go with it.

Wich processor do you recommend? EDIT: He currently has a i5 3570k, Does he even need to update? :S

He'll probably get a GTX 780 as a gpu.

Sorry for shitty spelling.

Thanks in forehand =)

i5-4690K OC'd + EVGA GTX 780 SC w/ ACX. He'll need a Z97 motherboard with that, MSi Z97 Gaming 5 or Asus Z97-A.

That's actually a 1155 socket, I'd recommend a 3570K if it's just for gaming.

If he is just gaming either get a cheap decent Z87 or Z97 board and get the new Pentium G3258 but if you can get a great deal on the older LGA 1155 Z77 and the Core i5-3570K then go with that.

If he needs more horsepower than the Pentium then have a look at the Core i5-4670K if you can get a f**king good deal or just get the Core i5-4690K.

He says he already has a 3570k, just upgrade the GPU and you are fine. If you haven't already get an aftermarket CPU and overclock the 3570k to 4.4GHz or 4.5GHz
