First time computer build

Go to solution Solved by Michaeldp,

Nice and solid build. You can also change the CPU (for the same price) to a i5-4690k and the z97 version of your MoBo. You can get an r9 280x aswell, but I'd not recommend the Asus version since it has a very high rate of artifracting. If you can I'd recommend a better CPU cooler like the Thermalright HR-02 Macho Rev.A or the Schyte Ninja 3 if it fits you budget.

Thanks I'll do some research onto that graphic card.

Made a few tweaks here http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/gp4XYJ

If you look foward to haswell refresh or broadwell without wanting up upgrade bios for Z87 mobo, use the Z97 instead

Yeah I thought as much, it will save sometime not having to upgrade the bios. Imma have a look into that Gaming 3 Motherboard. :P

It's pretty nicely balanced, though I would personally drop the CPU to something like an FX 8350 and try to get a better GPU in there, like an R9 290 or even a GTX 780.

Assuming its main purpose is gaming, obviously.

I personally lean towards intel but thats a matter of personal choice, but i'll be looking into those graphic cards that you and Slimy posted. Thankyou for taking your time to reply.

Hello everybody, i've decided on my first computer build:

However with some Haswell or Haswell 'refresh chips' you've gotta do some bios updates is this the case with this computer build? As i've seen threads online where people have been unable to Mflash due to CPU being uncompatible.

Thanks in advance!

You could get a Windows key from G2A and bump that GPU up to a 290?
