Looks like a very well-balanced build to me. Are you buying that Z97 board so you can upgrade to Haswell refresh or Broadwell later?

Looks good to me, as mentioned you really only need Z97 if you want to upgrade to the new generation CPUs when they are launched.

There are 10 types of people in the world: Those who understand binary, and those who don't.

Just some helpful stuff: You're - You are, Your - Your car, They're - They are, Their - Their car, There - Over there.

The Bitfenix Fury series of power supplies come pre sleeved and seem to have decent quality, defiantly better than an RM. I'd also recommended a 4790k instead of a 4770k.

1- Get the 4790k.

2. Get a EVGA Supernova G2 PSU, they are fully modular, 80+ gold, very high quality and comes with good looking sleeved cables.

For $90 EVGA sells sets of cables of many colors, that work with their PSUs, they are very well made and look amazing.

So does it come in blue sleeves?

Thank you guys for the input and yes I want to upgrade everything over time so yes I will upgrade the CPU in the future.

Upgrading just the cpu is something that is almost never done. If one is going to upgrade within a year, it makes more sense to wait and get the desired processor. If the upgrade is any further down the road, one will generally want to upgrade to the then latest and greatest. Which generally involves a new motherboard. And, in the case of the next 2 - 3 years, possibly new DDR4 memory.

In the case of your build, get the i7-4970K immediately, don't bother with the 4770K.

The motherboard has a large heatsink along the top edge. In a Define R4 this is going to make things very tight with an H100i. Note the power cable in http://www.overclock.net/g/i/1281156/fractal-design-define-r4-asus-sabertooth-z77-corsair-h100i-compatibility-inquiry/flat/1.

The non-stock fans seem wasteful to me.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.

Ok thank you I need to know a case that looks good, with nice airflow, and is priced around $100. I have already changed the build to the haswell refresh.
