Hello, First off, I have two Pcs. One I never use because it is old and crappy, and a new one that is WAY WAY WAY better! I have a drive on my old one I'd like to put in my new pc. However I don't know whether to put it in because it has an OS on it (Win 7 x64) and my current HDD has a OS on it (WIn 8.1 x64). Will it screw anything up if I put the two HDD's in the same system? I don't really understand multiple drive w/ a different OS on each, or partitioning stuff. As I am a computer 'Bambi' I would love for you guys to help me!

-Thanks

You can install it even with an os on it. Worst it will do is ask you which drive to boot from. Install the drive, copy the data you want off it. Format the drive, copy your data back to it then you have a second drive in your computer that will work fine. Then you can use it as a storage device. You don't have to partition anything. :)

Well just let it known that copying programs that way is iffy. When programs install they edit the registry, basically telling what files to open and where the location is. Some programs you can copy that way, others you can't. You can certainly try all the programs you want, but if they don't launch or if they don't work properly you will need to actually reinstall the program. If you need any more help just ask, we are here to help and no question is a dumb one, we all had to learn this at some point. :)

As Scaryjam said above, you will be able to browse the drive from the second PC without booting it. It's also worth noting that if you don't delete anything important from the drive you will be able to put the drive back in the other PC and boot it.
