Not reaching the optimal Read/Write speed

Tech-Veg
Go to solution Solved by vorticalbox,

I could chose between::

IDE mode

Raid

AHCI

I chose AHCI and i just got bluescreened after the windows logo, before login.

1. Startup "Regedit

2. Open HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE / SYSTEM / CurrentControlset / Services

3. Open msahci

4. In the right field left click on "start" and go to Modify

5. In the value Data field enter "0" and click "ok"

6. exit "Regedit"

7. Reboot Rig and enter BIOS

then change to ACHI and reboot.

Hardware: HyperX 3K 240GB SSD.

Advertised speed:

555MB/510MB/s read/write

My results:

http://puu.sh/9WN8u/5847003674.png

Any idea's what the problem could be.

I havent checked yet, but i figured ill do that tomorrow, but just to make sure i know everything to check i ask here.

Things already on the list to check:
- If its 6gb/s SATA port

- If the cable is 6gb/s

What more ''can'' be the problem?

All feedback are great!

have you cloned your system?

the hyperx 3k is 2 years old and no one should buy it, but that is for you to decide

Is the SATAIII port you're using from the chipset, or from an ASMedia controller or something?

false advertisement? Just kidding but maybe something in your bios? But personally i wouldn't be that upset because the speeds you are getting are still really fast. Also if it is sata 2 and that's the problem please let me know because i have sata 2 and would like to know what my ssd speeds might be. Thanks!

Is your SATA controller in AHCI mode? You enable it in the bios.

Honestly if you just flashed it then it probably isn't anything in the bios, what about drivers though are they all up to date and installed correctly?

you somehow need to manage to get ahci running, if your 4k benchmarks are around 20-25 you dont have to change something , because loading games and booting up is mainly random and games also load random

You installed windows without AHCI mode. That's why it bluescreens when you do set it to AHCI.

Follow the post above your reaction to switch it to AHCI in windows and then change it in the BIOS. All should be fine then.
