totally worth it in my opinion the 780m is an amazing card

 

I find in laptops you want to get THE best you can afford, as you can do nothing about its performance later

 

 

For example skyrim, on ultra at 1080p the 860m gets 20fps, the 780m gets 50

also its has a much better cpu since laptop cpus are weaker than desktop ones, also has 2 ssds

I've been wanting to buy a gaming laptop and I have decided on buying an MSI GT70 that costs around 2394 USD. But there is also a cheaper option, MSI GE70 for around 1816 USD. I think $578 difference is worth paying but I would like a second opinion.

 

MSI GT70 ($2394) specifications:

 

- i7-4800MQ 2.7/3.7GHz

 

- nVidia GTX780M 4GB

 

- 2x128GB SSD + 1TB HDD

 

 

MSI GE70 ($1816) specifications:

 

- i7-4710HQ 2.5/3.5GHz

 

- nVidia GTX860M 2GB

 

- 128GB SSD + 1TB HDD

One thing that i never do... Buying a laptop for gaming. But that's because i work and live in the same city so... You must have your reasons.

 

I have a desktop PC for gaming and workn and a laptop just for work and productivity. But if you don't have that chance then go with the most expensive one, i think you will be better served with the gtx 780m.

Indeed, I am aware how much better a desktop PC I can assemble for this money but I need a portable machine.

Yeah, It's a shame. JZ would have been perfect but there is no option below 3000 USD for me and most places say they are out of stock anyway.
