so i noticed that the version 5 bios for my dell venue 8 pro is out, should i update? if so, when i run the exe, it gives me a WARNING popup saying "to start flash press ok, or cancel", just so im prepared, after i press ok, them what does it do/what do i do?

It flashes a new BIOS.

 

The real warning is if the file is corrupt somehow or your power goes out. If you really need the BIOS update then go for it but if you don't then there is really isn't a point.

Bios update for a tablet? WTF! i dont know what it does but if its anything like a pc bios it will just automatically do everything just before u do it i would plug the power in u dont want it turning of int he middle of it.

 

Does it tell u what it does? like does it give u new features fix a bug?

power is not a problem, because, this is a tablet, but no i dont really have any programs that need it, iv just heard that this one is more power efficient and cooler (physically)

I have a Dell Venue 8 Pro. I am considering doing this myself as I have heard it improves various things around the tablet and fixes some things here and there (Wifi problems?)

 

Make sure you have it plugged in when you flash it. Also, once you flash, let it do it's thing and don't mess with it. It should turn off when done, but wait a minute or two just in case.
