Overclocking an amd phenom 9600

My pc I have right now was given to me from my older brother. He built it years ago and I want to overclock it. It's running at a base clock of 2.3 ghz. Is it possible to overclock it a little bit? I'm not expecting to reach 3.0 but atleast 2.6. I've never overclocked anything and I think it would be a great start
