Hey all,

So I'm looking for a decent guide on overclocking my new 4790k. I know there won't really be much out for that particular chip just yet but anything for the 4770k should work. I'm mostly interested in what is essential for overclocking a CPU. I was able to push my previous i7 920 to 3.8Ghz without too much of a problem but the thing to do was disabling turbo, ht and other features. From what I hear now, turning that stuff off doesn't really matter now on these newer chips. I was able to push the 4790k to 4.6ghz turbo without touching anything but the multiplier but should I not be focused on the base speed or is the turbo just fine? I'm also learning my way around UEFI since my previous experience has always been in a traditional bios.

My setup:
i7 4790k @ 4.6 turbo
32gb ddr3 @ 2400mhz
asus maximus vii hero

corsair h110

samsung evo 1TB

2x asus gtx 780 directcu ii @ 1140/6600
corsair ax860i
