Best free video editor for youtube? (Also a thumbnail maker?)

Hi,

I am a small youtuber (180,000+ Views) and I was wondering what is the best free editor for the purpose of making youtube videos?

Also what is something similar to photoshop thats free for making thumbnails?

Double check everything, I am usually wrong.

For free,try Lightworks.

Bro, I used photoshop, premiere, and that other one I can't remember for a few months extended trial!

For an alternative to Photoshop try GIMP.

Personally I would just buy some cheap software

 

A basic version of Vegas or premier elements would do the job

 

for photo editing try Gimp or Paint.net

Assuming the channel I just found is yours (has 180000 views, yes its bad...)

 

No money at all? :/ there is some super cheap stuff out there

 

Just use widows movie maker, its rubbish but might do the job

Sure, but to fish you'll need a fishing rod :P

 

It doesn't work as well with a stick you find on the ground.

Funnily enough I've used Windows Movie Maker for the first 150 of my 300 video's.

Titles, Music, animations, transitions, custom output settings (which don't always actually "stick")

But it's plenty usable and you can do a lot better than I used to do, plus you can do one pass in WMM, set it up the way you want, and run it through another program if say.. that program has better iflters and such to run through, but isn't as simple to use as WMM.

WMM also used 85-90% of my 8 Threads. Thats good too, but could be specific to my codec stuff.

Another thing to note, when I 50% my speed, or anything below or above 100%, it does not distort the audio like some other programs. :)

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz
