Gday Guys,

im having a BSOD issue. Its only just started (about 2 weeks ago) and so far as been relatively infrequent (happens maybe 3 times a week) currently im yet to pinpoint what it might be, so thought you guys might be able to shed some light on it for me.

this is the BSOD screen, sorry for the shitty quality, had to snap it quickly before it disappeared.

Edit: Excuse my ignorance when it comes to BSOD's, i dont really know where to start when investigating them.

No. You're on 14.4. Hmm...strange that's the driver I used to fix my problem. Huh, I'd recommend maybe uninstalling catalyst from your control panel, and re-installing it from AMD's website. DON'T DOWNLOAD 14.6 Just 14.4.

  • 2 weeks later...

From the looks of your photo you should have a dump file somewhere.

Commonly located here:

Small dumps: %SystemRoot%\Minidump

Kernal dumps: %SystemRoot%\MEMORY.DMP

If the BSOD is stopping you from booting to Windows then try to boot to safemode, if not, then remove the drive and connect it to a working machine via normal attachment or just USB with an adapter.

Next, download Debugging Tools for Windows http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/hardware/hh852365 and load up WinDbg.

Open the crash dump file section in the app and navigate to your dump file. This should hopefully give you a better understanding as to what is wrong.

I have often found that the 7E and 50 BSOD messages co-exist so some debugging is often required to determine which of these is actually causing the death.

One is due to bad drivers which relates to ‘a system thread generated an exception that the error handler did not catch.’ The other is commonly faulty RAM.

It might be worth to play it safe and run a memtest over your RAM just to rule them out, this can be done if you can get your hands on a memtest ISO and just burn it to a CD or mount it to USB drive. You never know it might just be a particular memory address that isn’t used often unless you’re maxing out your RAM.

If you have already uninstalled and reinstalled drivers then you might find this has solved the issue, if you get another BSOD with the same details give the latter a go.

Dude this was posted like last month, the issue has been fixed lol. Thanks for trying to help though.
