Virus?

Go to solution Solved by Dui2705,

check your browsers plug ins disable and delete anything you don't want then scan your pc with malwearbytes or any other anti virus program

there is a new kind of adware now a days, when u install it by mistake it changes ur browser search engine, home page, removes the reset button from the browser settings for firefox chrome and IE, also the adware changes the shortcuts for the browsers on your computer to make them open new search engine and homepage even if u managed to reset the browser settings.

if u remember exactly when did this happen, and its like couple of days ago, do a system restore to 1 week ago or so if u have a restore point, its the best and fastest way to deal with this.

Either, its a rootkit (unlikely) or its a PUP.   Now, Avast and Defender dont detect PUPs by default, Malwarebytes does, somewhat.

The best thing to do is to download ADWcleaner, its a tool specially designed to remove what you are going through, and its also a good idea to run Malwarebytes.

I think antiviruses not detecting PUPs by default is compeltley BS.  Because anything that shows you spam, rude advertisements and redirects you should be considered malicious NO EXCEPTIONS.

Try that, I would recommend AVG back in the day, I even work for them.  But I never use AVG, I hate Avast too.  I recommend paying for MBAM pro, and just running it alongside Windows Defender or if you want to go free use Sandboxie alongside Defender.  Then you'll never get infected again. (unless your insane)

if you are 100% sure you must be certain that there is a virus then get combofix, to explain how awesome it is, standard anti viruses are like pistols, combofix is like a tank in comparison but i dont recommend using it if you arent certain that there is a problem. Its like that you have a stupid plugin on your browser, either malwarebytes pro is amazing, weboftrust is nice as well

Thank you all!! I installed malwarebytes and it took forever to install i dont know why but I scanned my computer(which did not take long at all and amazingly it detected like 15 threats!! I have quarantined them and restarted my computer and at the moment it seems to run fine. I will post an update on how it goes after some time :) if not then i will try the other suggestions :) Thank you once again :)

Hi!!

My computer was working fine and suddenly there are many ads and pop ups in my browser and it is working considerably slower. Whenever I click something it sometimes re directs me to other pages. It is very weird because whenever I install something I always read very carefully what to install and what not to. I have never accepted anything I dont trust and I am completely surprised by this. Any ideas how to fix this? Windows defender thinks my computer is running absolutely fine. and I installed avast to be sure and it thinks the same. So how come the pop ups and re directs?

Awesome!  Get Malwarebytes pro, its quite cheap and will prevent it from happening again.  Malwarebytes pro runs in the background and is compatible with other antivirus software, Windows defender is good to run it alongside because Defender uses like no resources.

Kaspersky if you have more money, you can also find it super cheap in retail.

Should open windows task manager and find out about or destroy any unkown process.

I did it, you found  shit like a spyware from your PC prebuilt manufacturer and one from microsoft.

Its disgusting, the kind of things people make to hinder us in life.

The most common result of insufficient wattage is a paperweight that looks like a PC

you see it like that and who ever make those stuff see it as easy fast money from ignorant people. best way to fight it is to raise the level of awareness of the computer users, specially the average users because they are the ones targeted.
