HELP! Getting critical error message
Restart and make sure the fans are connected to fan headers
Have a look in the bios and see if there is an option to disable the fan warning message. By default the pc will detect that there is no fan connected to the cpu fan header, and that will give you the error warning. The option might be somewhere under the advanced options. Have a look at your boards manual and it should tell you.
Ok, so the fan problem has been dealt with. I had to find a creative way to route a fan cable from the front to the back of my case where the only system fan header is, but at least now it doesn't give that message anymore. I've checked the bios and my motherboard is pretty locked down (it's rather old since I'm the process of upgrading everything) otherwise I would have tried that for sure. Thank you both very much for your help! Also turns out I have an imminent hdd failure coming soon and the power cable wasn't plugged in completely which completely didn't help the situation..... but oh well, some of the joys of DIY the first time around.
