Arma 3 no PhysX

Go to solution Solved by FireFox,

You probably won't notice much, probably not the best comparison but playing Mafia II with PhysX off and with it on high I didn't notice any difference apart from a big drop in fps.

Basically don't worry about it, if you want the Radeon then buy it.

So I am looking into getting an R9 290 for an upcoming build and I am really getting into Arma 3. I was just wondering how much I will be missing with lack of PhysX and if it affects overall gameplay/enjoyability of the game. Thanks  :P  :D

I should be studying.

I don't know if that game has physX or not but I sure as heck would choose a game (same type of game) with physX over one without it.

Too many ****ing games!  Back log 4 life! :S

Even if it barely makes a difference?

To me it is a noticeable difference.  If you don't see it I think you are blind.

Well I didn't notice it in Mafia II but what I did notice is my GTX 660 struggling to get above 22 fps when I was walking around. When I was driving it was fine at 60 fps but I still couldn't see a change and no I am not blind.

Arma 3 does not use GPU accelerated physx or any proprietary effects. It's rather lightweight and CPU only regardless of GPU.

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

...yes it does use PhysX...

I know it uses PhysX. However it does NOT use GPU accelerated PhysX effects. It's CPU PhysX calculations only.
