Multiple monitors

Go to solution Solved by LawrenceBarnes2013,

Oké, but i dont use eyefinity OR surround. I just right click the desktop and go to the settings. I dint touch the eyefinity ever. I dint even know it existed until this discussion.

But we probably wont figure this one out. You got any other suggestions as to how i can use my tv hooked up to the pc withouth constantly changing settings?

as i said, i do it all the time just like you, i play PES on TV with my budy, and it's plain simple as the screen shot i showed you you just switch from one display to another, keep trying, reset every thing and do as i said because something has been messed with for sure

Hello gentlemen,

I got a question about how to set up 2 monitors and 1 tv screen. I already looked some things up on the internet but i dint get that much smarter.

Basically i have 2 pc monitors and 1 tv next to my bureau. I decided i wanted to hook my tv on the pc so i could play games like fifa on the tv screen.

But i found out that if you want 3 or more screens you need something like a display port cable. (im really unfamilliar with that).

So i thought maybe i could change the monitor with my tv. So i hook al 3 up to my pc but i leave the tv off in the settings, and when i want to use the tv i shut down the extra monitor and put the tv on?

But this hasn't quite worked for me yet. I cant extend. I tried disconnecting the extra monitor and only using 1 monitor and the tv but the tv wont extend the desktop.

I can only use the tv on its own when i choose to have the desktop on the tv.

I hope i made things clear, if this isnt the case just ask me.

Also sorry in advance, English is not my native language.

Thanks in advance!

This is what you need. It will allow you to hook up your tv to the displayport port using an hdmi cable, which you probably already have.

I have a HD6950 Twin frozr III and atm i have my 2 monitors hooked up with dvi. Then i got my tv with a hdmi. What i got left are 2 smal connections. What i thought were those display port thingies. but you show me a different kind of connector so im confuzed now i dont think these are display port connections then.

Also do you know why my pc doesnt recognize my tv when i disconnect 1 monitor. So i dont have 3 or more i just have my main monitor and my tv connected but the tv wont extend......

get a Display Port to HDMI Adapter, hook your TV to it, and i guess tou want to run the two monitors in Eyfinity/Suround witch is done through your Catalyst/nVidia Controle panel, so you configure the two Monitors to run together and than, when you want to use the TV, you just change your Output to the HDMI witch you have pluged to your Display Port

Indeed! The best thing would be to say to my 2e monitor go off or disable, en then enable my tv. So i don't have to buy another cable. But i tried that and it doesn't work. But i don't know why.... -.-

in the Market part, there should be a Second out put Once you got your TV Plugged and Turned on, so you just select it

i'm using my Laptop so i can't really demo that

Oké let me explain what i do and what i have setup:

first i hook all my screens to my pc. 2 24 inch screens via DVI and my tv via HDMI. #2 is my main and #3 is my extended. they are both 24 inch screens. so NOT my tv #1 is my TV.

http://imgur.com/MHY0pA1

Next i disable #3 so i can enable my tv (#1).

http://imgur.com/12Qc8UR

And then wen i want to enable my tv to extend the desktop it says that i cant save the settings.

http://imgur.com/eQJTOa4

The only thing my tv wants to do of all the settings is work on its own. I disable both 24 inch screens and set my desktop on my tv thats the only thing the tv wants to do.

do you already have the two 24s configed in Surround, because you don't need to unable or disable any thing, i do it with my Setup all the time, just swtch from the #1(The two 24s) to #2(The TV)

yes thats it! i got 2 of those

Glad to help ;) mark my post as best answer though, so the post shows as answered.

To play games on your tv you need to set the tv as your MAIN screen, so screen number 1.

Win7_ScreenRes.png

Your tv must be the screen with the number "1" on it in this window.

-EDIT-

you see that "multiple displays" option? to do what you want to do, set that to "extend these displays" like in the picture. If you don't want the other screens to be used while you play games, set it to "clone these displays" and turn off the extra monitors.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

I understand that one, but the problem is that my tv wont coöperate with any other monitors. It only wants to work on its OWN not with any other monitor. The tv only works when i set the tv to only display and disable the other 2 24" monitors.

So option 1 is that i buy a mini-dp to hdmi and try that. But i kinda dont want to constantly hook my tv on to the pc just when i need it.

Option 2 is to try to make it work as 2e display while setting 1 24" monitor off. So i dont have 3 or more and dont need the display port.

This is very strange, it shouldn't do that. Apparently there's some sort of firmware in your tv that doesn't allow you to use it at a different resolution than native, and this is probably also preventing you from using it in extend mode. Does the tv have different inputs from hdmi? Have you tried the displayport adapters yet?

I'm afraid the adapter's the only solution, what card exactly do you have? Can you show me a picture of your outputs?

Kinda, but you say it as if it is not possible.

And if 3 monitors doesnt work thats what i mean by setting 1 of so i actually use 2 not 3 but that dint work either.

i say it as it wont work because it wont, the TV is way bigger than the two monitors witch your control panel can't extend the image on unless it uses like black bars on the screen to make it match with the Monitors however changing the display from the two Surround configed monitors i suppose to the TV can be done like a snap i just can't work out why it doesn't work for you
