144HZ VS IPS

Hey all kinda need some help as I am looking at buy a new monitor but I don't know weather to get an ips or a 120hz/144hz.

will you run games at 120-144 fps and you want that high fps and small delay?

I would say get IPS. But that's just my opinion.

It depends. I have the Asus vg248qe, one of the best 144hz 1ms gtg available. While this monitor is awesome in Battlefield 4,no tearing, low blurring in fast panning and such, and the extra edge with super low input response times, an IPS could not really compete in these areas but instead has much better color reproduction, better viewing angles, overall much prettier and more brilliant picture. Which matters to you?

If you play competitively that 144hz refresh rate is really important if not, IPS

Think hard before you buy, I went from a TN 1080p 120hs monitor to a IPS 1440p 60hz and a week later im already selling the IPS because I play BF4 mainly and it looks like crap at 60fps while other games actually look good enough but turns out I prefere faster frame rates and response time.

Well I have a 780 and I've been getting up to 117fps (max) in Battlefield 4 (higher in other games) I do love the look that ips give but If I go ips then I'll just be getting alot of tearing within the main games I play.

How much competitive gaming are you going to be doing VS how much editing/content manipulation/appreciation will you be doing? If the former matters more, then 144/120hz will definitely matter more. If the latter, IPS.

If you play FPS competitively, go 120Hz or more, if not, get a good IPS. That's really about it. Since I'm mostly into RPGs and MMOs, IPS for me.
