I deemed the previous thread to get out of hand, it was my fault due to the lack of information provided in the thread. Someone will be purchasing my current motherboard and processor for a generous price as they are building a PC quite soon. Upon selling it I would purchase a G3258 along with something such as an Asus Sabretooth Z97. As of this moment, all that is required of my PC is gaming. Down the line, in six months or so, I will be required to do more intensive tasks and upon so I will purchase an i7. The reason being for all of this is that I will get a quite generous price for my current motherboard and processor, more than I would get anywhere else by far. What is your opinion on me doing this?

Why wouldn't you get what you need now, instead of buying something you KNOW you will need to change?

Due to the price, it's roughly €60. I don't need to purchase an i7 for at least six months. I have no problem with spending €60 on something which I will for six months at least, it also performs better in games which I play.

All be it you don't need it, but why spend more money in the long run... you are going to buy the pentium then in 6 months an i7, There is not way you will make back the price of the pentium if you sell it as a used item. I'm just not seeing a logical scenario here haha

Read the original post again. I will be recieving a generous price for my current motherboard and processor which I will not recieve anywhere else, not even close. This offer is open for a short period hence why I consider this to make sense.

If you can get a lot of money back for your current components, then do that.  Making the switch to Intel will benefit you in the long run.  You can save some money by going for a less expensive motherboard, a la Z97-A.

I will recieve close to 85% for what I originally paid for the motherboard and processor hence why I want to sell it.

I read it haha, I think I'm done trying to push you in the other direction while your wheels are locked straight.

To me it seems like the more sensible choice to the G3258 for multiple reasons. I will be selling my motherboard and processor for 85% of the original price, it's a year old almost. AM3+ is a dead socket. The FX 8320 doesn't cut it in games such as Arma and Infestation.
