Ok, so, to get this out of the way, I've tried multiple different drivers (was initially using 14.6 beta), messing with voltage/ frequency settings for my 7870, and changed just about every graphics settiing, one at a time.

Now, the issue. When I play Assassin's Creed 4, there are specific regions of the map where the video will just freeze. If I'm on a ship, I can temporarily update the screen by bracing for impact. If on foot, by getting damaged

to the point that the screen starts flashing gray/red. This was an avoidable problem until where I currently am in the story (tailing a ship for medicine). Usually only happened near forts. You can imagine how frustrating it

could be trying to play through such a mission with only your minimap to guide you. I've gotten to the point where crocs try to get you while tailing them on foot, and that, along with the impossible-to-navigate-without-visuals

landscape, has finally forced me to deal with the situation. Any ideas?

Is your GPU overclocked? if so put back to factory settings and change the game settings using AMD Gaming Evolved recommended settings for your rig and don't OC your rig, it could be over heating or your GPU is on its last legs.

No, nothing in my rig is oc'ed atm. Have tried Gaming Evolved. Didn't work. So I deleted it. Graphics card doesn't climb much more than a degree C above 60. The game was crashing for a while until I removed the AMD Gaming Evolved and reverted settings.
