Stupidly high overclocking threshold in AMD 14.4 driver

TheNerdyCanadian

Hey guys, has anyone else had this happen? i just opened up CCC to play with some monitor settings, and i thought i might tweak my gpu, and i found this when i opened the performance tab... (note, it was capped at 1200 core, 1650 memory about a week before on the exact same driver)

Use afterburner.

i don't get any better of an OC on afterburner than with CCC, my voltages are locked with the revision of my card, and even using the unlocking method in afterburner doesn't do anything

yup, i got the rev 2.1 of the 7970OC from Gigabyte, locked voltages, and no full waterblock support, only rev 1 had that.

Still didn't try really overclocking it.. It's just at 1000MHz on the core, and I downclocked the memory from 1260MHz to 1200MHz because of some crashing..

I'm at 1085 Core , 1350 mem on stock voltage. Can't seem to go beyond that.

Well.. All you can do is increase the Power Limit... The max, at least for me is +50%
