So I was looking around at the Virgin Galactic flights to see how expensive they really were, and I came across this amazing concept created by WorldView. It's essentially a capsule that can contain a number of people, that will be lifted upto the edges of space (120,000 feet) by a huge balloon, once this height is reached the balloon will detach and the capsule will glide down via parachute. It's pretty scary thinking that the price of this is $44,000, Virgin Galactic was started a couple of years ago and was going to cost people hundreds of thousands of dollars! Being able to go to space (the edge of) commercially is finally becoming a reality, you can also put down a deposit if you are that urgent to be one of the first. They're going to be starting test flights within the next couple of years and I really hope it goes well. Would any of you guys pay the $44,000 to use this?

I would imagine people getting a little uncomfortable when there are some winds, also the parachute concerns me.

Heights are not really a problem to me, nor are closed spaces, but a closed tin-can in low orbit with one parachute to to rely on. Especially when the people inside cant just get out and use their own personal parachutes.

Yeah, I would be a little scared.
