Hello.

After buying new graphic card, becouse the price was cheap i have left some money so i can buy some SSD. I don't know which one to get, i can chose betwen:

Kingston V300 64gb or 128gb

Transcend SSD340 128gb

I wanna know is this Transcend a good ssd becouse its not expensive, only 65euro, kingston is like 80euro. Motherboard is on SATA II, i hope that isn't problem,

becouse i know it won't get full speed but it's better that old hdd. I will use my WD320 for storage. Again, sorry for bad english not main language.

Normally I would go for a 128gb kingston, but there was a rumor that kingston and other companies have been switching their high quality ssd components for crap.

I just read that on internet, they say new series of kingston SSD is crap, only old ones are great. I don't know if it's true.

Post up, samsung ssd is like 110euro..

The Kingston V300 series now uses asynchronous NAND in it's SSDs, which butchers the performance of the drives. I haven't heard anything about Transcend so I can't speak for them.

There is a wide variety of SSDs to choose from. Although they cost a bit more, I would choose Samsung 840 Evo as my first pick. If you're looking to stay cheaper, the new MX100 series from Crucial looks promising. AData and PNY also make some nice SSDs you can fnid cheap these days, like the SP900 and XLR8.

Build: CPU: Intel Core i5 4690k | CPU Cooler: Hyper 212 Evo | Motherboard: MSI Z97 Gaming 5 | RAM: 8GB G-Skill Ares 1600Mhz CL9 | Storage: 120GB Samsung 840 Evo + WD Blue 1TB 64MB Cache + Seagate Barracuda 2TB 64MB Cache | GPU: MSI GTX 960 | Case: Cooler Master Storm Enforcer | Power Supply: EVGA 600B Non-Modular |

In my country here the prices are so high and parts to chose from are really poor. There is no MX100 series from Crucia at all, there is this Samsung 840 but its over 110 euro, and that is too expensive for me.

What do you think about Transcend SSD340 128gb ?

Silicon power is garbage (phison controller), transcend is garbage (jmicron) and kingston is also gargabe (async flash).

Just order from somewhere else (if you're in EU, then DE or AT is your best bet). MX100 or m500 are great and very cheap.
