Ethernet doesn't have a valid IP configuration

ThyFeared

So I've been having internet problems today and last weekend. I fixed this weekend by just unplugging our switch upstairs and it fixed it magically but now I unplug it and it doesn't even work. I also noticed that my ip now starts with 169 which isn't correct. Please help!

Sorry if this in the wrong section

Try some simple troubleshooting steps. Have you restarted your router? Is there a link light on the Ethernet port of your PC?

I tried all of those and there is a light, but for right now it seems to be working. It just randomly happens

Then it's either a bad cable, bad drivers on your PC or an issue with your router or switch.
