16 or 32gb ipad air?

fojacko

How fast does space get used on the ipad? I don't have to worry about movies or music since i have a netflix and spotify subscription. I'm only going to have 5-10 games at most (hearthstone, world of tanks and the rest will be any games that look interesting). I had an 8gb ipod touch and that got filled up pretty easily, but i don't really care about mobile gaming any more (except for the games listed before). So I should be fine, right?

My Build

GPU: MSI GTX 1080 ARMOUR | CPU: i7 9700k | Ram: 16gb 3200mhz Motherboard: ASUS Maximus XI Gene | Storage: 2x 1TB NVME 1x 500GB NVME 1x 120GB NVME | Case: Corsair 570X

I would say always go for the highest capacity available, but since that is 128 GB in this case... Go for the 32 GB model, so that you don't regret it further down the road :)

16GB goes faster than you think, honestly. 32GB is the sweet spot.

I've got my 32gb 2012 nexus 7 here and i bought the 32gb with the same mentality, yet i have only used 7gb of the total 27gb that is usable and that's without deleting all of my unused apps.

EDIT: Had more than 4gb of unused apps, so that makes it a total of 3gb used.

Go for more, if you don't use it all at least you'll have the space available. If you go short and use it all you can't add anymore and would be wishing you would've went bigger.

My father went 64 GBs and he is pretty much the definition of a casual user. Yet he's used up around 50 GB...

I had a LOT of games. GTA: San Andreas and GTA: Vice City being the two bigger ones. I had two and a half screens just of games.

That's you though, the only game i play on my nexus 7 is trials frontier. I will be downloading hearthstone (477mb), trials frontier (100mb) and world of tanks (300mb). So that's 877mb of space and i don't even know if i will enjoy hearthstone and WoT.

My father went 64 GBs and he is pretty much the definition of a casual user. Yet he's used up around 50 GB...

How? Guessing music and films. Like i said, i don't have to worry about music and films, i have netflix and spotify. And i never take expensive tech out of the house since i'm clumsy as fuck. So I don't need the movies offline (spotify has the option to download music to listen offline).

I've got a 16GB iPad2 with iOS 7.something. Two games on it and a TON of pictures and screenshots (more than 6000, atm) and I have about 3 or 4GB left.

I would wait until the next iPad goes on sale. The current one should see a price drop at that point. I did the same when I bought mine and saved 110€. With that kind of a discount, you can almost get a Synology NAS and stream most of the content.

I don't really play many games for gameplay anymore honestly. I play most games just for the graphics.

i totally depends on your usage model. i have the lowest end nexus 7(2013). but i knew how i was going to use it. all that storage is only for games and apps. all my content is on the network drive. and i can use a file explorer to  browse that. my phone on the other hand have 16GB internal and a 64GB SDcard becasue i take so many pics and videos (20mp and 4k/1080@60fps) that takes up a lot of space and a bunch of music too.

but that is just me. i dont take my tablet out of my house. so i always have external storage.

im not sire of ipad have such functionality but im sure you can use an app like EMIT(free on play store but not sure about apple side) to stream from your PC or Mac. so think about how it will be used.

for more information watch this video,(i know not every one likes pocketnow, but forget about all that and just watch this video)

If you are buying it in-store and don't it isn't much of a trip get the 16gb and use it for a week to see how it is, if it's not up to par return it. If you like it then you saved $100

So looking at other people's usage and how much space they use. I'm 99% sure 16gb is going to be plenty. As I have said, I have owned a 32gb 2012 nexus 7 for over a year and have only used about 3-4gb.
