FX-6300 vs Athlon II X4 760k

Ok, so my budget is 700-750BGN which is  $400-$450  I'm from Bulgaria and I'm stuck between two configurations

Athlon II X4 760k
R7 260X 2GB GDDR5
4GB 1333MHz (or 1600MHz I watched a linus video that he show us the MHz doesn't really matters)
Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB
FSP HEXA 500W
Asrock FM2A88M Extreme 4+

I have a an old pc case mid tower i guess it is normal case not giant not mini just normal

and the other config

FX-6300
R7 250 1GB GDDR5
4GB 1333MHz(or 1600MHz)
Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB
FSP HEXA 500W
Asus M5A97 LE R2.0

I plan programming, gaming,a little bit video editing maybe a 3D modeling and that's it.
Which one is better ?
And also i saw a gameplay on watch dogs with FX-6300 and R7 250 running at high and the Athlon II X4 760k and R7 260X handling it at medium... I mean isn't the R7 260X better graphics card ?

The 260x is much better  I would go with the fx-6300.

And try to get a 260x and save some money and get a cheaper harddisk or something like that.

I'd personally go with 760k, because it uses FM2/+ socket, and you'll be able to upgrade your CPU later, and 760k should be able to handle all current games atleast on medium (Austin Evans has a great video about 750k) :D

AM3/+ is pretty much a dead socket

Here you go, this has identical performance to the PC you're making :D

Si3Rra_7 nothing left from the old pc hdd died and it have only 512mb ram i switched from PC to laptop but now laptop is going to die (and is weak intel  dual core with integrated gpu.... )

Silver Knight I've watched all Austin Evans's builds but this is not only about gaming i mean i like to play games on high since my laptop only was abe to play at low... but this pc is more about programming, multitasking and 3d modeling, video editing etc...

Grab the 760K and R7-260X. Much better/balanced combo. Grab 1600mhz ram if you can. Doesn't make much of a difference but if it costs almost the same, might as well get the better parts.

I know this is a old topic but i would just clearify that it's the opposite it's FM2+ that is dead and the Am3+ that is alive. The Fm2+ socket hold the 760K as the best and the AM3+ is for all the FX like fx 6300 and fx 8350.

i have to make that correction mate

if you see recent AMD road map for processors

they are pushing APUs which are solely on the FM2+ socket

and next line of APUs are still using the FM2+ socket

FX lineup have been halted until 2016 or maybe 2017

some places have stopped selling FX chips althogether

FM2+ have support for PCI-E 3.0 and mSATA and M.2

and the new APU has support for HSA and Trueaudio

which means your APU can be a 4 core + 8 GPU core in one situation and then turn into a 12 core monster

TrueAudio means we may not need to use the Realtek audio chip solution since the GPU can process audio along with graphics just like HDMI and DisplayPort supports audio passthur

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.
