1. Budget & Localisation

My Budget is about ~1500€

I am located in Austria

2. Aim

- 3D Modelling/Rendering/Animating
- Programming/complex Mathematics

- of course gaming, thinking of upgrading it later with an second GPU

3. Monitors

I am planning to run one monitor with 1920x1080

4. Peripherals

I don't need any. I'll stay with my old ones

5. Case

I got the T600 White
(http://www.corsair.com/en-us/special-edition-white-graphite-series-600t-mid-tower-case)

The Rig:

Storage:

- Western Digital WD Blue 1TB

Crucial MX100 256GB

CPU:

Intel Core i5-4690, 4x 3.50GHz, boxed

CPU Cooler:

Noctua NH-D15

RAM:

- Crucial Ballistix Sport DIMM Kit 16GB, DDR3-1600

Video Card:

- ASUS GeForce GTX 780, 3GB GDDR5

Mainboard:

ASUS Sabertooth Z97 Mark 2

Monitor

ASUS VX238H, 23"

Case:

Corsair White Graphite 600T

Power:

Cooler Master V-Series V700 700W ATX 2.31

My Question is if this is going to work fine and if there were better choices.

1. Go with 4690K, you may have meant that....

2. Dont go with 1600mhz ram as that is quickly fading out. Go with 1866+mhz and it will cost about the same and perform faster especially for your jobs.

Everything else is fine.

I Love Playing CS:GO!

you've listed this as being your priorities over gaming:

- 3D Modelling/Rendering/Animating
- Programming/complex Mathematics

In that case i would highly recommand you jump to the core i7-4790 or 4790K if you're into overclocking, if the prices gets too steep you could look at the xeon 1230V3 wich is the same as the i7-4770 without integrated graphics (no need for that you use a GTX 780) and cost about the same as the i5-4690K...but you get hyperthreading (8 threads CPU)

The hyper-threading will help A TON in rendering, encoding, and modeling tasks...

| CPU: Core i7-8700K @ 4.89ghz - 1.21v  Motherboard: Asus ROG STRIX Z370-E GAMING  CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i V2 |
| GPU: MSI RTX 3080Ti Ventus 3X OC  RAM: 32GB T-Force Delta RGB 3066mhz |
| Displays: Acer Predator XB270HU 1440p Gsync 144hz IPS Gaming monitor | Oculus Quest 3 VR

It's a sweet build. If the budget can take it I too would suggest an i7-4790K. The more powerful cpu will make a significant difference with 3D modeling and if the complex math solutions you program use multiple threads.

I would also suggest an IPS monitor - better color reproduction and wider viewing angles. Perhaps ASUS VX239H, 23" (90LM00F0-B02670).

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.
