Minecraft OpenGL

I was playing MC on my new system and i saw this and i was like hey doesnt amd run really well on opengl Lets turn it on, and it bombed my performance I have a 4670k and r9 290 im also only getting around 60 fps with frame cap off and since MC isnt intesive im wondering why

Try downloading optifine if you haven't already, then enable Multi-Core on one of the settings pages.

EDIT: I run a GT 640 with an 8320 and it runs very well

It is because even though it is not very intensive, it is poorly optimized

Amd is good on opencl, opengl nvidia and amd are as equal as in directx...

 

You sure you havent vsync on?
