50$? No idea. Zalman mic is cheap and good, check some demos on youtube. There is Audio Technica Lavalier mic 3350 i think, but i am not sure you need some hardware to drive it... but its very good sensitive mic with outstanding quality even for professional use.

What other options like AntLion's modmic 4.0 are avaliable? It doesn't have to be that style but good microphones in price range of 50$.

Only works if your headphjones have removable cable tho.

V-moda and beyerdynamic both have one where you plug into the detachable cable socket but does not fit on every headphone. You can also make a mod with a zalman clip on.
