Samsung TV problem.

Hi, i didnt know where to post this, so if its in the wrong section please move it.

Ive got a problem with my 40inch UE40EH6030 tv. The problem is that whenever a lot of red is showing, the red colour seems to vibrate/bounce. ive had a google and tried other peoples settings, and it still happens. The problem still occurs with samsungs motion plus gimmick turned on or off. Anyone got anything else i could try?

The only thing I can think of is to rise the intensity of the backlighting or return the product as defective if that doesn't work.

I assume you tried the following:

smearing:
- set brightness at 45 or above and lower the backlight to compensate the black level
- set brightness at 50 or above when LED motion plus is on


The guy on a site was talking of purple smearing but also mentioned for 2012 tvs sets it was get rid of red smearing and other things.

Here is a link to what I looked at and it is a good site and there are other options mentioned in this thread on the page that get right to the point and say this is an issue Samsung needs to fix.

OP did you firmware update your tv yet?  It is mentioned in that thread there is a firmware update for your set.

"This firmware is for TV Model(s): UN**EH6030, UN**6070
 The version is 1011.0
 The firmware update will improve the following:
 
 - Solves sound delay issue on HDMI source

- Improves picture quality."

Yeah i have the latest from the samsung website which is 1017.0.

 

Unfortunatly the warranty has just ran out a month or so ago on this set, I've also changed the settings for brightness and backlight but i've yet to watch anything with red in it yet to know if it has fixed the problem. I shall post back if the problem has or hasn't been resolved.

Well unfortunalty after testing the above, it's still doing it. i changed it to RED only and notice theres a fair bit of ghosting around people etc.

 

Any other ideas?

Funny you mentioned panasonic, I have a brand new tv from them 42EH750 its okay-ish but much better then the old shitsung I bought 8 years ago (duhh), horrible screen gives me headaches. 

The new EH650/750 serries are not bad. But if you love smart TV the new LG skin with WebOS looks quite fancy.

Oh and the problem with your TV? no idea maybe you could send it back to RMA to ''good old Samsung'' Eh?

Or call Samsung wtf is going on, your warrenty droppped a month ago.

Say you want the new F8000 or whatever topmodel and review it on Linustechtips
