I have posted questions similar to this today and I just need a final answer now.

I am getting a new gpu

But idk if I should get a 290x, 290 or 780

There is an XFX 290 for $399
http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=26347&cPath=877
An ASUS 780 for $599

http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=24153&cPath=876

And an XFX 290x for $549

http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=26345&cPath=877

I know the 290x the best performer the majority of the time. But I'm worried my pc wont have enough wattage. I have a Corsair RM650 PSU. Will my pc be able to run the 290x and what is the best "bang for my buck"

Any help?

The 290 is the best for the price, the 780 is WAAAAY more expensive than it should be considering it performs the same as a 290 most of the time. your psu should be able to handle it, but I can't now for sure if you don't tell me what your other components are.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

Seen the prices is the 290, that is about 300W of power consumption... I prefere the 780, but there costs 200$ more...

780 or R9 290

@Swag Master General do you not have any options from other online retailers who sell the same product? seems pricey & I can't believe an R9 290X is cheaper then the 780

I plan to use 3 monitors in the future but never go over 1080p

Here are some benchmarks using BF4 on triple monitors.

http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/graphics/2013/11/27/battlefield-4-performance-analysis/5

As for the PSU problem i am running a 290 with a 760 watt psu and the corsair monitoring utility shows the power draw sits at about 500-550 watts in synthetic stress tests (Including stressing the CPU [4700k]). So your PSU will be just fine..

And as for the best bang for the buck that would fall to the 290, the 290x and 780 just cost to much more for the extra performance they bring..

Incase you dont know AMD and Raptr just released a competitor to shadowplay..

It's only cheaper for this week I found out and I won't be getting it this week so those prices are basically irrelevant. The 290x are about $50 more than 780s

These are the same prices everywhere because in Australia, parts are much more expensive.

Power supply should be fine for any of them, an overclocked, aftermarket 290 is really good value for money and that's what I'd recommend.
