So my Raid 0 array has been working fine for about 6 months now and today after doing some overclocking and resetting my bios to factory defaults (it didn't affect the raid array), Windows 8.1 won't recognize my raid 0 array. It shows them as 2 separate drives in disk management when it should show it as a raid 0 array. In my utilities, it shows that the Raid 0 is working and healthy but in the OS it isn't recognizing it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I'm pretty sure that its because you reset the Bios, but I don't know for sure so...

well thats what i thought but you set up the Raid outside the bios and when i went to set it up again it was already there so I think its the OS

When you originally setup the raid was it through the built in windows tool or did you use a 3rd party software?

Go back into the BIOS and check your SATA settings, They should be in RAID not AHCI/IDE mode. Resetting CMOS resets this option. I did it a few days ago :P.... They will pick the array back up after you change and restart.

Quack 🦆

okay cause yeah in the OS they show as two separate local disks but with 0 bytes of storage, thank you!!

Really? Check it again, then launch the raid utility from BIOS and make sure the raid volume is there that you built.

Did you check the RAID BIOS? Control I to enter it after the mobo BIOS goes by, then make sure its listed as a RAID 0 array, should be if the RAID settings are still there but if you ran it on AHCI mode and tried to read it you may of hosed up the RAID format section of the drive.

Live and learn. When you have a RAID system you need to not try to boot up in AHCI or IDE mode or you'll hose your RAID array.

I roll with sigs off so I have no idea what you're advertising.

This is NOT the signature you are looking for.

You used software RAID or never really had RAID. How did you setup the RAID array?

Like when I changed the bios to Raid and went out, it says hit ctrl+I to enter utility and then i did and set it up, so it was outside the OS. And now that raid array is still there but when I get into the OS, it shows as 2 separate Local Disks instead of a Raid array?

Can you take a screenshot for me?

http://gyazo.com/eb682760e4a919ea31805d349995dbb1   The Local Disk D and E are the 2 separate drives that should be in the array.
